Homeb. Nowhere is a beautiful place.

From Swakopmund we drive inland and south to enter the Namib-Naukluft National Park with beautiful desert scenery of moving dunes and rocky plains.

Totally in awe of the abundance quartz-like stones, I spent quite a bit of time on my knees!

The camping at Homeb consisted of trees in a dry river bed at the foot of a red dune.  And a wooden toilet structure which I was just not brave enough to share with all the desert creatures living there!

There in the middle of nowhere, with only a few goats and cattle as company, we set up our camping shower and played Adam and Eve for a little while!

The evening meal was again pasta, this time with canned pears for dessert!  At about 21:00, which had now become our standard bedtime, we lay in bed listing to the sounds of the desert.

At the break of dawn we walked up the red dune which is much, much higher than it looks from down in the river bed!  But definitely worth the climb!!
