It is Wednesday, Nov 18th already! Way past the halfway mark of our lovely holiday. We continue the journey from Homeb via Solitaire and the Kuiseb Canyon to another of the many highlights, Sossusvlei!
To the north eastern side of Homeb we pass an old mine and later climb a rather steep little hill which hosts a mobile network tower. While taking photos, a guard pops out from his dilapidated caravan (right next to a pile of Lucky Star Pilchard cans) excited to have someone to talk to! I ask about the name of the stones on the mountain, but apparently they're just called ´stones of the mountain´ and I leave none the wiser.

Later we enjoy coffee and freshly baked apple tart in the middle of nowhere at the, somehow out of place, Chinese owned Solitaire Bakery. A tiny little museum\town displaying wrecks of all sorts. Before we leave we stock up on freshly baked bread and delicious pigs ears!
At the Kuiseb Canyon we stop at all possible viewpoints. The scenery brings back memories of the Salta region in North West Argentina which we visited a few years ago.
Beautifully coloured mountains as we approach Sesriem.
