Rosh Pinah and further south to the banks of the Orange River

From Luderitz we drive back to Aus and turn South along the black tarred road all the way to Rosh Pina, almost on the eastern boarder of the Sperrgebiet National Park.

We again spend a night in the the mountains, at the Namuskluft rest camp between the Namus Mountains about 17km south of Rosh Pinah.  Beautifully situated in a corner between the mountains.

Being the only tourists around, we got all the attention of little camp dog, which tonight, goes by the name of Snoepie. Together, the three of us enjoy another pasta night outside under the stars.

Saying goodbye to our little friend

In the morning we walk a trail to the bushmen cave at the back of the mountain and back, followed by a white bundle of joy who seems to be absolutely thrilled by the attention of two strangers.

Before turning east along the Orange River, we are stopped by a uniformed man and his sidekick and searched (sort of) at a security control post.  Corners of search-interest being the cigarette lighter, coin pocket of my purse and the bag of stones that I gatherd back near Homeb!

For about half an hour we drive along the banks of the Orange River and for about half an hour, 'home' is just a stone throw away!   (if your good at stone throwing ....)

The Orange River, border between Namibia and South Africa.

We then turn back north again, away from the border with Homeland and Heartland and continue on our way to Ai Ais and the Fish River Canyon.
