From the Tiras Mountains we turn towards the coast and later stop at the Aus tourist office which appear the not have been opend for quite some time. At the garage on top of a steep hill in the center of town we get the tyres filled with air again before starting on the 100km tarred road to Luderitz.
We get blown into Luderitz by a warm sandy wind which seems to only stop when the sandy season is over! Which is probably, never!!

This was the one night we decided against sleeping in the tent and ended up sleeping in a boathouse!
In the afternoon we started on the historic walking tour of the town and even dared walking all the way to Shark Island and the lighthouse. This was as much as we had energy for and then turned around and let the wind sweep us back to Frisslers where we spent the rest of the of our time in Luderitz! Enjoying bears and a huge seafood platter - still spitting out sand in between bytes!

On Sunday morning all is quiet and the wind has disappeared. We made a quick stop at the OK grocers, drive around town along the rest of the historic walking tour and then back in the direction of Aus to Kolmanskop, the once properous diamond town quickly built by Germans and turned Ghost Town in 1959 when diamond hunters moved further south to Oranjemund.
Around noon the wind returns and we decide to move on to Rosh Pina on our way down to the Fish River Canyon.
